Girls U16

There is a minor change on this week’s U16 Girls Hockey Rankings with Durban Girls College sliding ever so slightly ahead of Menlopark to occupy the No.1 spot.

Realistically it is all very close at the head of the leaderboard with several teams worthy of leading the rankings.

Herschel makes inroads on this week’s U16 Girls Top 60 Rankings after a good run of form last week.

Collegiate are the only team amongst the front runners on this week’s U16 Girls Top 50 Rankings that manage to make up some ground and move up a place.

As more and more results start to trickle in we need to turn our attention to the upcoming Top Schools Hockey Tournament that will be held by Paarl Gym in August, 2019.

A gallant effort by DSG at the Champions Cup hosted by Rustenburg has seen the Grahamstown team rocket into the top 5 of this week’s Girls U16 Hockey Rankings.

Still early days in the U16 Girls season with many teams yet to get into full blown action and we can expect yet another hotly contested year.

Perhaps the highlight of the U16 season was the introduction of the Paarl Gym U16 Top Schools Tournament for the first time and the huge success the event achieved which further enhanced the profile of the sport.

Only the one change amongst the leading teams on this week’s Girls U16 Hockey Rankings, with St Mary’s Waverley getting into the top 5 sector in an otherwise unchanged top of the table.

Collegiate put in a good performance in their match against DSG to boost them into the second position on this week’s Girl’s U16 Hockey Rankings.

A frenetic scramble to get outstanding results in by the deadline of midnight 31^st May, 2018 in order to qualify to get invited to Paarl Gym’s inaugural U16 Top Schools Tournament has resulted in a closely contested top half of the table.
