Hockey Rankings - Boys 1st Team

Jeppe take their place amongst the top 5 teams on this week’s Turftech Boys’ Top 60 Rankings as the only Gauteng team amongst the leading group.

Grey High School remain at the top of this week’s Boy’s TurfTech Rankings although Hilton College have made up some ground following their win over Michaelhouse.

The 2019 hockey season is well underway in what promises to be a very tightly contested tussle between several of the traditional powerhouses and perhaps a few giant killers who are hoping to cause some surprises.

The hockey season is now fully engaged with many of the teams having enjoyed some good success in this early part of the season.

There can be little debate as to which team should be crowned as the leading Boys Hockey team in South Africa for 2018.

Jeppe did what they needed to do to ensure that they are at the top of this week’s Boy’s First Team Rankings and that was to win their matches against KES and Waterkloof.

A well deserved win by Maritzburg College over Affies last weekend has helped to nudge them a little closer to Jeppe who still lead the Boys Hockey Rankings for this year.

For the second time this season Maritzburg College were forced to bend their knee and accept defeat and in so doing take a step back on this week’s Belgotex Sports Boys Hockey Rankings.

Jeppe who have been leading the Belgotex Sports Hockey Rankings for the past couple of weeks were held to a 2-2 draw by Pretoria Boys High over the weekend in what was a thrilling match.
