This Week’s First XV School Rugby Rankings is starting to gradually display a more familiar look to it although there are still several teams that we can expect to move in either direction as the season progresses.
Paarl Gim however proved once again why many are touting them as the team of 2021 with another clinical performance over Paul Roos Gym who struggled to keep Paarl Gim at bay.
Paarl Gim remain entrenched at the head of this week’s First XV School Rugby Rankings and keep their unbeaten record intact.
Grey College ironed out many of the wrinkles of previous weeks and ruthlessly disposed of Boishaai to signal that they back to their best and are going to do what is needed to challenge for the top spot.
There is still plenty of matches still to be played and there will obviously be much movement in the weeks to come especially as more teams are added.

The rankings are worked out by using an equation that factors in the strength of the opposition, margin of victory, margin of loss, actual match points scored, home/away status of matches and others like “loss within 7 points”. The various factors garner a team a prescribed amount of bonus points which are accumulated and divided by matches played to render an Average Bonus Points which ultimately is ranking the teams.
