Taking the lead in a changing world

Clarendon Girls High School celebrates 121 years of excellence.  It was known as East London Girls High School in 1903 and the name was changed to Clarendon in 1957, named after Lady Clarendon.

We focus on creative and innovative thinking, empathy, communication and social skills which enable girls to become valuable global citizens.

Clarendon prides itself on being a flagship school in the region and has a reputation as a Centre of Excellence.

The dynamic, pupil-centred environment is uniquely tailored towards individual girl’s needs.  We endorse the importance of values in all aspects of life.  Our core values are:  Integrity, respect, hard work, responsibility, resilience, accountability, empathy.

The holistic development of our learners by providing sport, cultural, service and leadership opportunities aligns with our motto of Fac et Spera, work and hope.

Our sport, cultural, service and leadership opportunities are extensive and we encourage mass participation.
