This week’s SA School Sports First XI School Cricket Rankings are as close as ever at the top of the table!
Wynberg pulled off one of their finest wins of the season, overcoming Rondebosch in a hard-fought match that propelled them to No.1 for the first time this year. This victory nudged them past Waterkloof, who also put on an impressive display with Divan Behrens smashing 173 runs in a decisive win over Merensky. However, Wynberg’s triumph carried extra weight, given the strength of their opponent.
KES also made a strong statement, defeating a high-flying Affies side by 30 runs, which dropped Affies down a position and allowed DHS to rise after their confident victory over Maritzburg College.
With only a few matches remaining in the 2024 season, the school cricket rankings are still in play, and we’re excited to see how these final matches shape the leaderboard.
