There was a strong Michaelhouse presence at the annual aQuelle Midmar Mile. The bulk of this made up by in excess of 50 water polo players. Despite the choppy water conditions and head on winds, all participants swam a good race.
It was pleasing to see a number of Michaelhouse parents joining in on the challenge and fun, and managing to make the 1.6km swim look easy.
The first Michaelhouse swimmer home was Kyle Heyns (C Block, Farfield), in a time of 24 minutes, placing 53rd overall. He was followed in by Oliver Guy (C Block, Tatham), who placed 66th overall. Take Greene (C Block, Mackenzie) and Nate Cochran (D Block, Founders) also swam impressive times and placed in the top 100 swimmers on the weekend.
Thank you to coach Justin McDougall for sharing the photograph and insights, and a hearty congratulations to all our swimmers.
