There was some steady progress up the Girl’s Hockey Top 70 Rankings this week by St. Mary’s Waverley who recorded some valuable wins at this stage of the season.
For the top teams it is imperative that they peak at the right time for the show down in Bloemfontein at the Super 12 Tournament at the end of August. St Mary’s Waverley showed that they are on the right track with a couple of big wins against local opposition and a 2-1 victory over St.Stithians.
DSG is still flirting with a top 10 finish and their win over Queentown gets them to touching distance of the leading pack. Herschel reminded all that they are going to be a force to be reckoned at the Super 12 with a solid win over Springfield and they will be relishing the prospect of performing at their best later this month.
