Wynberg put together one of their best performances of the season when they took on Rondebosch and although it was a tight finish, managed to clinch a memorable win.
Wynberg’s success has launched them into the second position on this week’s First XI School Cricket Rankings with SACS dropping to third following their draw with Paarl Boys High.
Rondebosch however cling grimly to the top spot and will be hoping they can get back to winning ways in the week that lays ahead.
Perhaps one of the finest highlights of the week came from St Stithians opener Lhuandre Pretorius who got a rare double century ending on 218 runs in their win over KES. It was a high scoring affair with KES’s David Teeger also reaching three figures (114) in a losing cause.
Paul Roos Gym’s Paul Senekal virtually singlehandedly set up their win over Paarl Gim scoring 110 of the 183 all out scored by PRG. Marcel Wellman snatched 4/44 for St Charles College which helped with their win over Clifton and it was Blake Simpson with figures of 4/26 which helped Westville seize the win over Northwood.
