Paul Roos Gym produced one of their finest matches of the season which has resulted in some late movement on this week’s SA Schools First XI Cricket Rankings.
Setting Rondebosch a target of 228 for victory thanks to a sparkling 95 by Cormay Van Der Watt, PRG chipped away and managed to bowl Bosch out 18 runs short of the winning target.
The wins by Grey HS during the week, coupled with Rondebosch’s demise has resulted in a change at the top of table at this crucial stage of the season.
Paul Roos Gym move into the Top 10 Zone which is a great reward for this hard working team who proved in their win over Rondebosch that on the day they can beat any team in the country.
There were several notable performances during the past week which included Curro Durbanville’s Dean Huesmann getting to three figures (118) against Stellenberg. Kaiden Titus returned figures of 7/41 for Grey High School in their win over St Andrews College with Pearson’s Nikolai Hector claiming 5/16 against Kingswood.
In Gauteng, Jeppe won the Johnny Waite Trophy for the 2nd time in their history. Winning by 56 runs against Helpmekaar thanks to Teshepo who bludgeoned 53 runs off 35 balls.
Westville clinched the KZN 100 Ball League when they took on Kearsney at Kingsmead in the final round to cap off a great season in the shortest format of the game.
