SA School Sports Boys First Team Hockey Rankings – Weekly Update

It’s been another gripping week in the world of schoolboy hockey, with several top teams locking horns in fierce encounters that have once again shifted the rankings.

Affies, who opened their season in dominant fashion with four straight wins, have hit a rough patch. Their recent clash against a clinical Paarl Gim side ended in disappointment, and the loss has seen them slip further down the rankings. They’ll be looking to regroup quickly to rediscover their early-season form.

At the top, Paul Roos Gym managed to hold onto their No.1 ranking, but only just. They were pushed to the edge by a spirited Grey High School team that brought the intensity and forced a draw in a thrilling encounter. Grey’s strong showing sees them break into the Top 10, a reflection of their steady progress this season.

Meanwhile, Hilton College continue to make a strong case for themselves, currently sitting in second position after a hard-fought draw against Jeppe in their last encounter—another side that’s proving tough to beat.

SACS is still conspicuous by their absence but after a successful overseas tour they are certain to make in impact when their domestic season starts.
