As we come to the end of the 2023 school hockey season, it’s that time when we proudly present the SA School Sports Boys Combined Hockey Rankings. In our longstanding tradition, we blend the rankings of U14, U16, and the First XI teams to provide a comprehensive insight into each school’s hockey program.
What truly stands out in these rankings is their celebration of schools that excel across all age groups. It’s a tribute to institutions that prioritize nurturing young talent and fostering a culture of hockey excellence from grassroots upwards.
Leading the charge this year is SACS, demonstrating their prowess across the board and clinching the title of the Top Boys Hockey School of 2023. Their remarkable performance across various age groups speaks volumes. However, these rankings shed light on an important aspect—success in school hockey extends beyond the First XI. Some schools might boast a strong senior squad but fall short in developing talent at the junior levels, which can impact their overall ranking.
It’s crucial to remember that these rankings don’t foretell match outcomes. In the world of school sports, anything can happen on any given day, adding to the thrill and unpredictability of the game.
