The battle for number one continues, and this week saw Paarl Gim weather a fierce storm from a determined Affies outfit. In a match that went down to the wire, Paarl Gim emerged victorious 20-19, thanks in part to a brilliant brace from the lightning-fast Immanuel Prinsloo. While Affies will be disappointed not to topple the giants, Paarl Gim can breathe a sigh of relief as their unbeaten run remains intact!
Grey College Make a Statement!
Following their surprise defeat to Jeppe, Grey College returned to the field with a point to prove! Facing a decent Outeniqua side, Grey College unleashed an offensive masterclass, dismantling their opponents 90-3. This dominant display showcased the true potential of this Grey College team, with bulldozing centre Ethan Adams bagging a hat-trick and several other players crossing the whitewash twice, including Juliun Cosmo, Liam van Wyk and Ruben Cilliers. This emphatic victory propels Grey College back into the familiar territory of the top 3 in the School Rugby Rankings.
Wynberg Make a Stand!
Over on Brug Street, Wynberg were busy making their own statement with a well-constructed 30-27 win over Boishaai. Yaqeen Ahmed held his nerve with a late penalty to secure a crucial victory for Wynberg. This win shows their fighting spirit and determination to climb the rankings ladder.
