The dust has settled (somewhat!) after a whirlwind few weeks of exhilarating school rugby action. With so many fantastic matches already played, it’s time to unveil the highly anticipated first edition of the 2024 SA School Sports First XV School Rugby Rankings!
Separating the frontrunners has been no easy feat. Paarl Gim, Paul Roos Gym, and Paarl Boys High have all started the season with impressive unbeaten runs, showcasing their incredible talent and determination. However, after careful consideration of various factors within the rankings formula (more details available on the rankings formula), Paarl Gim narrowly claims the coveted No. 1 spot for this first iteration.
But hold on tight, rugby fans! The fight for the top spot is far from over. The season is still young, and there are plenty of stern tests to come for all the contenders. Jeppe’s recent 
dramatic victory over Grey College serves as a perfect reminder that on any given day, any of the leading teams can cause an upset. This is precisely what makes school rugby so thrilling – the unpredictability, the passion, and the sheer talent on display!
These School Rugby Rankings aim to celebrate the exceptional skills and dedication showcased by the student athletes across South Africa. They are also a valuable resource for fans and coaches alike, providing a snapshot of the current landscape and sparking exciting discussions throughout the season.
