Sportsmans Warehouse SA School Sports First XV School Rugby Rankings – Wildeklawer Shakes Up the Standings
The Wildeklawer Super Schools Festival never fails to deliver, and once again it proved to be the ultimate litmus test for the Sportsmans Warehouse SA School Sports First XV Rugby Rankings. With many of the country’s top teams going head-to-head in what is arguably some of the best schoolboy rugby on the planet, this past weekend gave us plenty to talk about.
When the dust had finally settled, one team stood head and shoulders above the rest—Paarl Gimnasium. Taking on KZN’s best in the form of DHS and Northwood, Gim showed why they’re the benchmark in school rugby right now, dismantling both teams with ruthless efficiency and near-identical scorelines. Their unbeaten streak remains intact, and with each passing week, they solidify their grip on the No.1 spot.
Joining them as the only other unbeaten side in the Top 10 is Westville, who continue to fly somewhat under the radar, but with growing confidence and consistency.
Affies also had a festival to remember, putting in a dominant performance against Boland Landbou before edging a gutsy Paul Roos Gym side—handing PRG their first loss since 2023. That statement win propels Affies into the top three zone, and with the season hitting its halfway mark, they look poised to be major contenders.
But for Paarl Gim, the road doesn’t get any easier. Up next? A high-stakes showdown with Paul Roos Gym that promises fireworks. It’s the kind of clash that could once again shake the top end of the school rugby rankings.
