U16 Girls School Hockey Rankings: 19/04/2023
The U16 Girls School Hockey Rankings have been released, and the top of the table is looking relatively stable. Rhenish, Paarl Gim, Bloemhof, Herschel and Menlo are still the teams to beat, and they continue to dominate the rankings. These five teams have been exceptional this season, and their performances on the field are a testament to their hard work and dedication.
Paarl Gim Top School Tournament: Automatic Qualification
The most prestigious tournament for U16 Girls and Boys in South Africa, and probably on the continent, is the Paarl Gim Top School Tournament. This tournament brings together the best teams from across the country to compete against one another for the ultimate prize. Automatic qualification for this tournament depends entirely on the SA School Sport Rankings. To qualify, a team must be placed in the top 12 by the cut-off date of May 31, 2023. This makes the U16 Girls School Hockey Rankings even more important this season, as teams will be vying for a spot in this prestigious tournament.
However if you don’t qualify in the top 12 all is not lost as DSG will be hosting the new Rising Challengers Cup that will see position 13-23 being invited to that top class tournament
Importance of Coaches Submitting Accurate Results
As always, we would like to remind coaches to submit their results to ensure that the rankings remain up-to-date. Accurate results are essential in ensuring that the rankings reflect the current state of the teams and that each team’s hard work and talent are appropriately recognized.
Season is Getting Hotter
The U16 Girls School Hockey season is heating up, and we can expect some exciting matches in the coming weeks. The top teams will be looking to maintain their position in the rankings, while others will be looking to climb up the table. It’s an exciting time for school hockey, and we can’t wait to see how the season unfolds.
