If ever there was a tightly contested school hockey race to qualify for the two remaining prestigious tournaments on the calendar, this was it. The competition has been fierce, with top teams battling for coveted spots in the prestigious Oranje Meisies Super 12 Tournament and the La Rochelle Challengers Cup, arguably the premier events on the calendar. With the qualification cut-off on May 30, 2024, now behind us, here’s how the school hockey rankings stand.
Oranje Meisies will proudly host the Super 12 Tournament, automatically inviting the top 12 teams—a fantastic chance for top talents to showcase their skills and passion for the game. The contest has been bitterly close, with very little separating the teams, promising an intensely competitive tournament. For those ranked between positions 13-25, the La Rochelle Challengers’ Cup promises to deliver a hockey spectacle.
Well done to all the teams participating in these prestigious events! A special shout-out to Oranje Meisies, who remain the team to beat, holding their position as the No. 1 ranked First school hockey team for yet another week. To all the parents, players, coaches, and supporters, the interest in the rankings has been phenomenal, and we thank you for your support.
Of course the rankings are not over and there is still much to play for! Here’s to an exciting and successful school hockey season ahead!
