As SA School Sports embarks on its 19th year of generating the definitive school cricket rankings, we are thrilled to announce that Sportsmans Warehouse will be the official brand sponsor for all SA School Sports Rankings in 2025. This exciting partnership will further enhance our commitment to celebrating the excellence of South African school cricket and all the various sporting codes we produce rankings for.
This week marks the launch of the 2025 First XI Cricket Rankings, and it’s important to note that this is still very early in the season. The table will undoubtedly evolve significantly as more matches are played. Only teams that have played a minimum of three matches have been included in this initial ranking. As the season progresses, more teams will meet this threshold, leading to further movement on the leaderboard.
A notable trend emerging early in the season is the unexpected struggles of several former powerhouses. Teams like Hilton and St. Stithians, traditionally known for their dominance, have experienced some uncharacteristic defeats. This early season suggests that the 2025 season promises to be highly competitive and unpredictable.
