In the latest First XI school cricket rankings for this week, Bishops continues to dominate, securing victories over top contenders Rondebosch and Wynberg. Their stellar performance places them at the forefront of the school cricket rankings at this stage of the season.
Hilton College, recovering from a challenging start with six consecutive defeats, rebounded with a remarkable 10-wicket win against Glenwood, marking their first triumph of the year. Westville also exhibited strength, clinching two wins and making notable progress on the table.
Individual brilliance shone through the week, with Emile Ordendaal of St Stithians delivering a standout century (112) against Jeppe. Kai Van Aardt from Jeppe mirrored the feat with a ton (110) in the same match. Waterkloof secured a convincing win over Centurion, propelled by Divan Behrens and Beukes Van der Berg, who notched up scores of 101 and 126, respectively.
Please check out the SA School Sport Honours Board which captures those who have scored centuries and taken five-fors so far.
While these rankings reflect the current standings, it’s important to note that the school cricket season is still in its early stages. With ample matches yet to be played, we can anticipate dynamic shifts in the rankings as the season progresses.
