More teams have been entered into this week’s First XV School Rugby Rankings which has resulted in some teams slipping down despite recording wins on their last outing.
However, as Covid-19 put the brakes on several Noordvaal teams from participating last week, there was still plenty of school rugby on display.
The Paarl Gim juggernaut came up against a plucky Wynberg side who played to the final whistle and gave the log leaders a solid test. Gimmies however remain unbeaten and at the top of the table, followed by Grey College who were denied their chance against Affies due to the rugby stopping virus.
Boishaai squeaked past Rondebosch in the rain which made the going tough for both teams. Comfortably nestled in the top 10, Boishaai are still looking to ignite their season and challenge for higher honours.
It must be repeated: We are still in the early stages of the season and generally perceived anomalies are ironed out as more teams and results are played.
