Miya Lalor from Reddam Constantia is making waves in Girls Cricket.

Miya, a talented 14-year-old, achieved a remarkable milestone in her budding cricket career as she gracefully marked her maiden century. The young lady from Reddam House Constantia in grade 9 scored her maiden 100 with 119 not out off 116 balls in a Western Province Ladies Premier League game on Sunday 28th Jan.

Displaying a rare blend of talent, determination, and skill on the cricket field, her innings was a testament to her dedication, hours of practice, and the natural flair she possesses for the sport. This maiden century is not only a personal triumph for Miya but also a promising sign of the bright future that lies ahead for this young and talented cricketer. Miya undoubtedly stands as an inspiration for aspiring young athletes, proving that age is no barrier when passion and skill align on the field of dreams.

Miya represents the Western Province U16 team and plays for the Old Mutual Ladies Premier League Side.

Cricket in South Africa is loved by many and now the girls have the opportunity to experience the same passion and excitement for the sport through actively playing the game on the field.  Cricket leagues are set up in various provinces providing girls the opportunity to participate in cricket, they are actively  promoting girls cricket at school and club level contributing to a great future for young talented players like Miya.
