First XV Rugby: This Week’s Top 100 Rankings: 23/04/2019

The weather had a hand to play in the Easter Festival matches that took place over the weekend with most of the festivals having to call some matches off.

However there still was plenty of high class action with many of the leading teams in the country on duty and producing some spectacular results. Paarl Boys High has edged up this week’s SA SchoolSports First XV Top 100 Rankings after a handful of very easy wins at the St John’s College Festival but still rest behind PRG who are at No.1.

Glenwood enjoyed a successful outing at the Kearsney Festival with two solid wins but perhaps were saved by a bolt of lightning in their match against Selborne College when it was called off in the second half with Selborne narrowly in the lead. Still the Green Machine moves back into the top 10 zone and displayed some high calibre rugby.

Selborne College have marched up the table picking up wins over Noord-Kaap and Framesby and are now knocking on the door of the leading 10 and Pretoria Boys High looked to salvage their pride with good wins over Kearsney and Transvalia thanks in part to a brace of sniping runs by scrumhalf Jaden  Collaros .

Rondebosch were another side who hit their straps in their festival matches beating a strong Grey High School and putting away both Northcliff and St Andrews College in what was an impressive display from the Western Cape side.
