Jeppe hit the top of this week’s First XI Cricket Rankings after completing a very comfortable win over St David’s Inanda last week and they have the makings of a powerful team in 2019.
Needing to get a modest total, Jeppe’s chase was led by a quickfire 32 not out by Levert Manje to seal what turned out to be an easy win for the Joburg mean machine.
St Stithians however seem to have found their form too and will pose several tough enquiries for any future opposition. Saints outgunned neighbours KES with two great half centuries by Jodi de Sousa and Liam Mostert helping to set up a target that was out of reach for KES as Sebastian de Oliviera helped to blunt their run chase with figures of 4/41.
Paarl Gim got the better of Bishops in what must go down as one of their more memorable wins with a brilliant 82 not out by Johan Smal and a return of 5/38 by Juan Wilson which assisted in putting to bed Bishops hopes of a win.
Lifa Ntanzi from Glenwood played a lone hand as he ripped the heart out of Maritzburg College with 5/32 but still couldn’t prevent College from claiming a good win to keep them in the top five zone for this week.
It is possible that several key results are still outstanding so please ensure you send your team’s results to [email protected] .
