In school cricket there could be no bigger match than SACS vs Rondebosch. Both teams have enjoyed a productive season and have shared the No.1 spot on the First XI Cricket Rankings in 2022.
Bowled out for 200 runs with only Fayaad Daniels who top scored with 80 providing any real resistance, Rondebosch would have been worried they had not set SACS a bigger enough target. SACS however seemed to get bogged down early in their chase and when time was called, they were 156/6 and the spoils were shared.
A drawn result is not ideal but perhaps highlights how close the teams are as they head the table on this week’s Top 80 First XI Cricket Rankings.
For many teams their season has run its course for now although there are still a few more matches that will be played in the last weeks of the season.
