The Paul Roos U/16 Tennis Team was named the best U/16 schools tennis team in South Africa by winning the BNP Paribas Rising Stars National Finals at Groenkloof in Pretoria.

This is a nationwide tennis tournament presented by Tennis South Africa and where the winner must advance from regional level to provincial level and then to the national final where all the provincial winners compete.

The Paul Roos team consisted of the singles players Willem de Waal and Pieter Kotze, as well as the doubles pair of Divan Prinsloo and Christiaan Cronje. The PRG team was seeded 3rd at the national final, but performed excellently by defeating the 1st seeded Gray College in the semi-final and then the 2nd seeded Waterkloof to win the title. Both games were very tight and the Maroon Machine won by 2 games to 1 in both cases.

In 2022, the PRG team narrowly lost 1-2 against St.Stithians. According to their coach Swannie Swanepoel, the reason for their constant success is a lot of discipline and hard work over a very long time.
