Oranje Meisies will be once again hosting the Fairtree Super 12 Hockey Festival in 2023.
What makes this a special and unique event, is the fact that the participating teams are the 12 best teams in the country as ranked on the SA School Sports First Team Rankings at the time of invitation which is usually at the end of May.
Criteria for being Invited to the Oranje Meisies Super 12 Tournament:
- The Top 10 Schools according to the SA School Sports Rankings as at 31st May, 2023 will automatically qualify and be invited to the Super 12 Hockey Tournament
- 2 Wild Cards will also be invited at the discretion of the Tournament Committee
- Teams will have to play a minimum of 12 games by the 31st May to qualify
The event is planned around the National Woman’s Day public holiday of 9 August. The planned dates for 2023 is 9 to 12 August. Matches are played over three days. In 2022 a total number of 43 matches took place.
