SA School Sports Girls First Team School Hockey Rankings – First Edition of 2025

So here we go again! A new season, new teams, and fresh challenges lie ahead. What will 2025 bring? Will the traditional powerhouses of schoolgirls’ hockey hold firm at the top, or will some new kids on the block rise to challenge the big names?

One thing is for sure—there’s a lot to play for! The Oranje    Meisies Super 12 will once again feature the top 12 teams on the rankings, showcasing the very best of South African schoolgirls’ hockey. Meanwhile, the La Rochelle Challengers Cup will provide the next tier of emerging teams (positions 13-25) with a prestigious platform to prove their mettle.

And leading the charge in this opening week? No surprises—it’s Oranje Meisies who have hit the front early. But let’s not forget, it’s still very early days! With more than 100 teams yet to be added once they’ve played their minimum four matches, the rankings are far from settled. Expect plenty of movement in the coming weeks as more teams hit the turf and make their mark.
