School Hockey Boys’ First Team Rankings: 25/04/2023
The latest boys school hockey first team rankings have been released, and there are some exciting developments in the top positions. SACS, who have been playing exceptionally well since their return from tour, have moved up to third position and are looking like a real threat this season. Their recent performances have seen them hammering holes in the net, leaving opposing goalkeepers with little chance to stop them.
College inching Back to Form
Maritzburg College also looks to have found some of their past form, with a solid performance over their annual rivals Pretoria Boys High although they had to settle for a draw. They are slowly inching closer to the Top 5 zone, but will need to continue improving in the matches to come and time will tell if this longstanding powerhouse can recapture the imagination.
Very Tight at the Top
However, this season is arguably one of the most tightly contested ones, with very small margins keeping the top teams apart. The race for the top spot is still wide open, and any team can come out on top with a few good performances.
As always we remind schools to send through any outstanding school hockey results to [email protected] , so they can be included in the rankings. This will help ensure that the rankings remain as up-to-date as possible and provide an even playing field for all teams.
With the season heating up, it will be interesting to see how the rankings change in the coming weeks.
