Sportsmans Warehouse SA School Sports Girls’ First Team school Hockey Rankings – The Race Heats Up!
The race for a top spot on the Girls’ First Team School Hockey Rankings is intensifying with every passing week, and this Easter weekend was no exception. With several key fixtures on the cards, a number of teams took to the turf to stake their claim—none more effectively than DSG.
Long respected as a powerhouse, DSG lived up to their Top 10 billing with a flawless display at the Saints Festival. Taking on a formidable lineup including Garsfontein, Menlopark, Waterkloof, and the hosts themselves, DSG emerged unbeaten, sending a strong message to the rest of the field and climbing even higher on the rankings table.
In other exciting news, teams now have more time to qualify for the two prestigious year-end tournaments. The cut-off date has been extended to 12 June 2025, giving schools just that bit more opportunity to break into the Top 12 for the Oranje Meisies Super 12 Tournament, or secure a spot between 13–24 for the La Rochelle Rising Challengers Cup.
Remember, the Top 12 teams on the SA School Sports School Hockey Rankings will earn their place at the Oranje Meisies Super 12 Tournament, while positions 13-24 will be invited to compete in the exciting Rising Champions Cup hosted by La Rochelle.
There’s still everything to play for, and with so much talent across the board, the race is far from over. Keep those sticks swinging, and let’s see who rises to the challenge!
