The latest Fairtree Girls U16 Hockey Rankings are out, and with the season gaining momentum, the race is beginning to heat up.
For over 20 years, SA School Sports has tracked school hockey through a proven rankings system that rewards results, strength of opposition, and consistency. It’s a formula designed to ensure that teams rise not just by winning — but by performing against quality opposition week in and week out.
While early-season movement is expected, there is already a growing sense of what’s at stake.
In 2026, qualification for two prestigious U16 tournaments will be determined entirely by these rankings:
- The Top 12 teams will earn invitation to the Paarl Gim Top Schools Tournament
- Teams ranked 13–25 will qualify for the DSG Rising Champions Challengers Cup
With places at these elite events on the line, every result carries weight — and every position matters.
As more results are recorded and more teams enter the rankings, expect the table to shift, tighten, and intensify in the weeks ahead.
