The wait is finally over! The SA School Sports First XV Rugby Rankings for 2023 have just been released, and it’s time for all rugby enthusiasts to get excited.
With the new season underway, it’s great to see schools and coaches from across the country taking to the field to showcase their skills and compete against one another. And with the release of the first edition of the rankings, it’s the perfect opportunity to see how your team stacks up against the rest of the competition.
But we want to remind everyone that these rankings are just the beginning. The formula for calculating the rankings is designed to iron out any anomalies, and as the season progresses, we will see significant changes in the table, in both directions. In addition several big names teams are not on the list as they have not played the minimum of 2 matches.
We encourage all schools and coaches to submit their results so that we can provide as clear a picture of current form as possible. The more results we have, the more representative the rankings will be.
It’s important to view these rankings as a guide to current form, rather than a definitive list of who is the best team in the country. We know that each school and team has its unique strengths and challenges, and it’s all about finding the right balance to succeed. On their day most teams can have a good or bad day at the office.
So, let’s get behind our schools and teams and support them on their journey this season. And don’t forget to send your results to [email protected] so that we can continue to provide the most up-to-date rankings possible.
