The primary task of any educational institution is to pursue academic excellence, but we believe there is more to education than simply achieving a stellar set of matric results. Since 1863 we have been producing well-rounded young gentlemen, who when they walk through our gates for a final time at the end of matric, find themselves equipped with a set of values and skills which enable them to meet the challenges of an ever-changing world. St Andrew’s has a very proud academic record. Smaller classes enable the school’s teachers to give their personal attention to every boy.
Among all-boys government schools, St Andrew’s is one of only four boys’ schools in the country to achieve a 100 percent pass rate for more than five consecutive years. In fact, the school has only had one failure in 28 years. The school with the second longest streak has managed it for 12 years.
St Andrew’s follows the CAPS syllabus and offers a diverse list of subjects to Matric level. Matric subjects are chosen in Grade 9 to start in Grade 10.
Boarding:
St Andrew’s is a traditional English boy’s boarding school in Bloemfontein. It has been the choice of English -speaking families in the Central region of South Africa since 1863.
