WATER POLO
Kearsney College’s U15 water polo side had a jubilant weekend at the Dallas Hutton tournament hosted by Northwood.
Thirteen boys participated in the three-day event, starting in Pool B. In the pool stages, they beat an invitation side of Northwood U14A 15-1, lost to Clifton 2-3, beat Westville 10-1 and beat Glenwood 17-1, to earn a quarter final spot.
In the quarter finals, Kearsney beat Maritzburg College 13-4.
The semi-finals saw them playing Michaelhouse, the top placed team in Pool A. Kearsney remained calm and structured, to beat Michaelhouse 9-6 and earn their place in the finals.
The final game was closely contested between Kearsney and Clifton. Kearsney managed to pull away in the third chukka, to win the match 10-3. Maturity and respect shown during the weekend assisted a delighted Kearsney side to win the Dallas Hutton tournament.
