Sports News: Maritzburg College holiday achievements

 Hockey

Maritzburg College offered a wonderful representation of itself during the mid-year holidays with the National and Regional Hockey Tournaments. Inland Hockey selected 3 teams per age group. The highlight of all the tournaments was hosting the u18A and B section tournament at Maritzburg College. By all accounts this turned out to be another well run event by Maritzburg College and a special thank you to all staff involved for making this event a huge success.

Overall, College had 49 boys selected to play for Inland. Unfortunately, 1 boy had to withdraw to a serious knee injury and one other due to disciplinary action taken by the school. College represents one third of all boys selected for Inland Hockey. 6 Staff members were involved in coaching, managerial or analyst roles during IPT. Another truly remarkable statistic for Maritzburg College.
