St Charles beat Kearsney 2-1
Kearsney met St Charles in the final fixture of the season for both schools in an extremely hot Pietermaritzburg.
Kearsney had a number of chances to score in the opening stage, but were unable to put the ball in St Charles’ net. St Charles got a breakaway and proceeded through the middle, scoring past the Kearsney goalkeeper to go into the break 1-0 up.
Shortly after the start, Kearsney had a free kick outside the St Charles 18-yard area. Lethu Ngidi struck a shot which deflected off one of his own players, sending St Charles’ goalkeeper the wrong way – and the ball into the net.
Both sides went for the winner, with Kearsney having more chances, but unable to convert. St Charles attacked against the run of play, to score the winner and take the game 2-1.
