Sportsmans Warehouse SA School Sports First XV School Rugby Rankings – Week Update
This past week delivered a blockbuster round of school rugby fixtures, featuring high-stakes clashes that thrilled fans and shuffled the leaderboard in the Sportsmans Warehouse SA School Sports First XV School Rugby Rankings.
One of the standout moments came from Oakdale, who have made it abundantly clear that their early-season hard fought for loss to Grey College was no fluke. That narrow defeat showed their grit, and they backed it up in a big way with a thrilling win over powerhouse Paarl Boys’ High. It was a clash of titans, and Oakdale didn’t flinch—absorbing pressure, striking back with precision, and ultimately landing the decisive blow to secure the upset victory.
Meanwhile, all eyes were on the much-anticipated Paarl Gim vs Affies showdown, and while it ended without a winner, it certainly didn’t disappoint. In a battle that swung like a pendulum, Affies’ Ruben Groenewald held his nerve to slot a crucial conversion, leveling the scores in the dying moments of a truly epic encounter. Both teams showed why they are regarded as rugby juggernauts.
As the dust settles, Paarl Gim retains their grip on the No.1 spot, while Grey College climbs into second place following their consistent performances. Oakdale’s giant-slaying heroics see them break into the Top 10 for the first time this season, bumping out Grey High School after their loss to a determined Paul Roos Gym outfit.
