Maritzburg College’s sporting achievements were outstanding as the teams competed in several sporting events during the last week, including soccer, cycling, rugby 7’s, basketball and a local triathlon, producing very good results.

Triathlon

In the first event Splash Tri Dash, a super triathlon which took place on Amanzimtoti’s Main Beach, south of Durban, on Sunday, Maritzburg College finished 2nd in the school’s competition and 7th overall in a time of 39:50. Teams from as far as Cape Town and Johannesburg competed in the 3×3 repeat triathlon — starting with a 200m ocean swim, a three-kilometre bike, and a one kilometre run on the promenade. Well done to Matthew Lock (Swim), Luke O’Connor (Cycle) and Jayden Jansen van Rensburg (Run).
