Glenwood High School has done it again! The Green Machine put on a spectacular show of rugby, leaving the Kearsney College festival with a 100% record after thrashing Worcester Gimnasium 57-8 in the opening game of the final day’s play.

Green Machine dominates Worcester Gimnasium with ease

From start to finish, Glenwood High School was unstoppable. Their attacking and defensive strategies were perfectly executed, leaving their opponents struggling to catch up. With a performance that can only be described as outstanding, the Green Machine dominated the collisions and barely gave Worcester Gimnasium an inch all morning.

Exceptional attacking and defensive performance

In the first half, Glenwood took an early lead with tries from Keegan Goosen, Lithemba Mfupi, MJ Schoeman, and Liam Terblanche, leaving the Bosvarke unable to get out of their own half or secure any meaningful possession. And when Worcester did get the ball, they were immediately swallowed up by green defenders, who completely shut down their space and negated their superb offloading game in the process. Carick Kustoor managed to score a penalty, but it was as good as it got for the boys in blue, with Glenwood leading 26-3 at halftime.

A glimpse of what’s to come from Glenwood

In the second half, Glenwood picked up where they left off, grabbing further five-pointers through Jordan Hargreaves, while Terblanche and Schoeman each got their second. Substitute Zuki Tom brought up the half-century for Glenwood before a William van Vuuren effort completed the rout.

Despite a late consolation try from Carick Kustoor, it was a hopeless cause for Worcester Gimnasium. The final score of 57-8 was a testament to Glenwood High School’s outstanding performance.

In summary, Glenwood High School has proven that they are a force to be reckoned with. With such an impressive start to their season, we can expect great things from this team in the future!
