School Hockey U16 Girls Rankings: 14/04/2023

The girls U16 school hockey season is off to a flying start, with Rhenish, Paarl Gim, and Bloemhof emerging as the early front runners in the latest rankings. However, there is still plenty of hockey to be played, and we can expect some exciting battles for the top spot in the coming weeks.

Coaches, don’t forget to send in your results to ensure that your team is accurately ranked. The U16 hockey scene is fiercely competitive, and every game counts, so make sure your team’s hard work and achievements are recognized.

Paarl Gymnasium: Host of the Most Prestigious U16 School Hockey Tournament

It’s worth noting that Paarl Gymnasium is once again hosting the most prestigious U16 hockey tournament in the country, the Top Schools Tournament. This year’s tournament will feature the top 12 teams on the SA School Sports ranking, all vying for the title of U16 hockey champion. Automatic entry is granted to these top 12 teams, so it’s a real honor to participate in this high-profile event.

However if you don’t qualify in the top 12 all is not lost as DSG will be hosting the new Rising Challengers Cup that will see position 13-23 being invited to that top class tournament.

These tournaments will be a thrilling showcase of talent, with some of the best young hockey players in the country putting on a display of skill, teamwork, and determination. The tournaments are not only an opportunity to compete against the best of the best but also a chance to learn from and be inspired by your peers.

Whether your team is currently in the top 12 or not, there’s still time to make a push for a spot in the Top Schools Tournament and the Rising Challengers Cup. The U16 school hockey season is long, and there will be plenty of opportunities to improve and climb the rankings.
