First XV Rugby: This Week’s Top 100 Rankings: 30/07/2019

Grey College were given a genuine test by Glenwood who travelled up to Bloemfontein to take on the leading team in the country. Although there were times when Glenwood hinted at causing a major upset, Grey managed to win well at the end and stay at the head of this week’s SA School Sports First XV Top 100 Rankings.

Further down the table it looks as if the traditional Interskole between Paarl Boys High and Paarl Gim is what will be needed to settle the composition of the top 3 for 2019 as at present there is little to separate these two juggernauts of school rugby.

Perhaps the biggest surprise of the week came from Pretoria Boys High who turned back the clock to record a memorable win over Affies which was an unexpected result for many barring the PBHS faithful.

With only a couple of weeks to go for most of the teams before the season ends there are still several teams that will have an eye on finishing higher up the ladder.
