Yet another comfortable win by Rondebosch helps to make their position at the top of this Week’s First XI School Cricket Rankings more secure.
It was Siviwe Nkonzombi, who ripped through the Bishops batting line-up, who laid the foundation for the Bosch win. Returning figures of 6/9 Siviwe helped to bundle Bishops out for under 70 runs to help Rondebosch canter home in 10 overs.
SACS also have closed the gap on Grey College as they too were clinical against Wynberg and look set for at Top 5 finish this season.
Northwood after being the big ‘Giant Killers’ last week after beating Hilton were brought down to earth when Glenwood put in a strong performance to take the win.
Besides Knonzombi’s brilliant 6/9 there were some solid stand-out performances around the country. Hayden Bishop for Kearsney was good with bat and ball against Westville, first scoring 81 runs and then taking 7/31 in their winning performance.
Umar Gangat from Pearson help set up a memorable win over St Andrews College with figures of 4/16 as St Andrews were bundled out for 71 runs.
Keyn Gace and Jonathan van Zyl were both unbeaten on 80 & 81 runs respectively in their win over St Charles College with the speedster Andile Simelane snatching 4/13 when his turn came.
As we arrive at the final stages of the 2021 season, please send through your outstanding results to [email protected] to ensure their inclusion.
