After the dust has settled following a plethora a First XI cricket that has been played during the past couple of weeks there has been some important movement on the First XI Cricket Rankings for this week.
One very noticeable aspect of the top 10 is that there is not a single KwaZulu-Natal team amongst the leading teams which is dominated by the Cape and Gauteng teams. We can speculate as to the reasons for this and some may suggest that school cricket is a reflection of how cricket is managed in a province.
SACS have closed the gap on Rondebosch and Paarl Boys High have made up some ground with some good results to now be amongst the Top 5.
Hilton College, who suffered loses to St. Stithians and Grey College, find themselves in a duel with Westville as the top KZN team. Westville have surged up the table following wins over St.Stithians and Grey College thanks to some sparkling performances which included an unbeaten 119 runs by Romashan Pillay.
