Adventure Sport is an exciting additional option offered at TWC and girls can choose to take part in a 2-week kayak around the island of Mauritius, sailing, hiking, horse-back riding in Lesotho, cycling and scuba diving, to name a few. Introduction to Adventure starts in Grade 6 and 7 with canoeing and hiking (beach and ’berg).

So, what are we about?

A TWC girl has the best preparation possible for a rapidly changing world. You will be taught in excellent facilities, by extraordinary teachers who will help you to find your passion. You will experience an education beyond the classroom– Sport, Adventure, Music, Art, Drama and much more. TWC is not just made for women of the real world; it is the making of them. What are you waiting for?

TWC will provide your daughter with more than an exceptional educational experience. We provide a safe environment for growth, learning, taking risks and self-discovery.  Education is also about the development of social skills and emotional intelligence, and we aim to develop compassionate, confident leaders who can develop positive relationships in all areas of their lives.

TWC writes the Independent Examinations Board examinations that emphasise problem-solving skills and the application of knowledge, ensuring good preparation for their tertiary studies.  We boast an excellent track record of Grade 12 results.  The wide, flexible subject choice allows the girls to study the subjects they enjoy.

Junior School (with boarding from Grade 3)

twc schoolGirls in the Junior School enjoy a wide array of creative activities including Art, Drama, Music, Computer and Coding skills, Design and Technology and PE. All girls from Grade RR spend time in the Computer Labs following literacy, robotics and coding programmes and the discerning use of technology is encouraged. Girls in the Senior Primary also spend some time away from school at camps during the year.

TWC prides itself on offering pupils the intangible things that make the difference between an excellent education and an exceptional one. The TWC difference – a team of inspiring teachers supported by excellent facilities in a nurturing and encouraging environment develop each girl’s resilience, assurance and clarity of purpose.

The school offers comfortable, homely boarding establishment for girls from Grade 3 to Grade 12, and both weekly and full boarding are offered, as well as temporary boarding for day girls.

Our boarders come from all parts of KwaZulu-Natal and other provinces of South Africa.

Many boarders come from other countries in Africa, such as Zambia, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Lesotho, Kenya, and Uganda, and some from as far afield as China, UAE, England, and Mauritius.

twc schoolOur newly-renovated Junior School Boarding Establishment (Grade 3 to 7), Rose Ridge, is located across the road from our main school entrance. This charming, historic home has been transformed into a modern, comfortable and well-equipped Boarding Establishment, designed specifically around the needs of our junior boarders.

Rose Ridge has space for over 35 junior boarders, as well as the live-in Housemother and several Boarder Mistresses. There is a big lounge/common room, a dining room, a wrap-around deck, as well as a roof-top deck, perfect for stargazing.  The Grade 7 bedrooms have the privilege of all having en-suite bathrooms. All meals are thoughtfully catered for by an in-house chef and the open-plan kitchen allows girls the opportunity to get involved in baking and other collaborative activities.

The expansive property, almost 4000 square metres, boasts a beautiful garden and swimming pool. It is secured by CCTV, armed response, electric fencing, a Night Guard, as well as strict entry control.

Girls enjoy structured time during the week and more flexible time on weekends with outings to movies, malls, the Midlands Meander, ice skating, epic karting, uShaka and more.

Our boarders say that the most important aspect of boarding is the forging of lasting friendships. When people live with each other, they become friends for life. Through boarding, the girls grow in independence and learn to value diversity and gain a deeper understanding of different cultures.
