Cricket: St David’s Marist Fasken Time Cricket Festival – Day 4 Final Wrap up

The 2^nd round of two day games at the St David’s Fasken Time Cricket Festival all ended in draws. Four days of action in the sun, so early in the season, clearly took its toll and no-one was able to chase down the targets set.

The festival ended as it began, with a flurry of hundreds and fifties scored on the last afternoon. There were three hundreds, from Christiaan du Toit (100 not out for Waterkloof vs St John’s); David Teeger (130 for KES vs St Andrew’s) and Luhandre Pretorius (140 for St Stithians vs Maritzburg College). A further 50 half centuries were notched up.

In conditions where the bowlers were up against it, there were two fifers on the last afternoon. Juan Minaar took 5/45 for Noordheuwel against the Lions XI and Josh Jordaan got 6/82 for Paul Roos against Jeppe).

The following prizes were awarded at the end of the day:

Best batting performance : Michael Holmes (KES) – 181 vs Maritzburg College
Player of the tournament: Luhandre Pretorius (St Stithians) – 324 runs, including two hundreds.
