28 of Southern Africa’s top water polo schools took part in the St Peter’s College Old Petrian’s U19 Girls Water Polo Tournament last week which once again delivered on excitement and passion.
A solid showing by Roedean at Old Mutual Prestige Cup has helped to launch their season and they are well placed in the top three for this week’s rankings.
In the early exchanges in this year water polo encounters three teams have risen to the top and they are the three teams who finished last year’s season in the top three.
The St.Stithians team have been in brilliant form right through the 2017 season and it comes as little surprise that they remain the No.1 ranked team on this week’s SA School Sports Rankings.
St Stithians became the first team from Gauteng to win the prestigious Reddam Tournament when they faced the hosts in the final which they won 7-5 in what goes down as one of the matches of the year.
St. Stithians have entrenched their place as the leading Water Polo team in the country at this stage of the season and sit just above Stirling in first place on the SA School Rankings for another week.
The Old Petrian’s Tournament produced some spectacular water polo which saw Stirling getting the better of Crawford in the Cup Final match. However St. Stithians are leading the SA School Rankings for this week with just two losses so far this year.
