SA School Sports Sportsmans Warehouse First XI Rankings Update
It has been a thrilling week on the school cricket fields across South Africa, with many teams wrapping up this stage of the 2025 season in style. The intensity and passion of school cricket were on full display as teams battled for silverware and bragging rights.
Westville Crowned KZN Coastals 100 Ball Champions
Westville continued to assert their dominance in the shorter format, clinching the KZN Coastals 100 Ball tournament title. Facing DHS in the final at Kingsmead, Westville produced another composed and clinical performance to be crowned champions once again. Their consistency in this format has set a high standard for others to follow.
Paarl Gim Hold Nerve in Derby Thriller
The fierce rivalry between Paarl Gimnasium and Paarl Boys’ High lived up to expectations, with a nail-biting encounter that saw Paarl Gim emerge victorious by just two wickets. The closely contested match highlighted the fine margins in school cricket, with both teams showing immense skill and resilience.
Affies Prevail in Pretoria Showdown
In another intense rivalry clash, Affies claimed victory over Pretoria Boys High, reinforcing their strong form this season. Meanwhile, Waterkloof delivered a commanding performance against Eldoraigne in the Finsbury Series finals, securing a convincing win to cap off an impressive campaign.
Standout Performances
This week also witnessed some outstanding individual displays with the bat. Waterkloof’s Rico Van der Walt stole the show with a blistering 125-run innings in their triumph over Eldoraigne, while SACS’ Aqeel Waggie fought valiantly with an unbeaten 100, though his side fell short against Wynberg.
