St Charles College Basketball report- first one of the season.
The opening 1st team basketball game of the 2025 season got off to a fantastic start, in front of a capacity crowd at St Charles College’s SK Arena. With both teams playing very young lineups, the game could have gone either way; however, it was the visiting Clifton team who settled quickly and got off to a great start.
With a combination of outside shots falling and good aggressive drives to the hoop, the Clifton team was able to rack up some early points and put the home team under considerable pressure. The Saints managed to compose themselves and chipped away at the lead, going into the second half just three points back.
The second half, however, belonged to the Saints. Behind incredible defense, they were able to repeatedly get stops on the defensive end which led to good transition opportunities. Behind a balanced inside/outside game, the SCC team was able to score at will in the second half and pull away from Clifton for a good win 70 – 49.
