David Samaai Tournament
HJS hosted the David Samaai Tennis Tournament from February 3 – 4. Two of HJS’s teams participated. The HJS invitational team won 9 – 0.
On Friday against Stellenberg , lost to Paul Roos 1 -8 and very nearly won against Gymnasium’s A team. They lost 3 – 6 with two of the ankles finishing 7 – 8.
On Saturday morning they beat Stellenbosch and Curro Durbanville and finished in fifth place.
The HJS A team beat Boland Agriculture 7 – 2 on Friday. They won convincingly against Curro Durbanville and Stellenbosch by thrashing both teams 9 – 0.
On Saturday morning the A team beat Gymnasium 5 – 1, however in the final they fought hard to win, but unfortunately lost 0 – 5.
Overall it was a great few days of quality tennis, a huge congratulations to both our teams for their efforts in playing some exciting tennis against some tough opposition.
