Grey HS snuck home with a 6 run win over St Andrews College and then failed to finish off Selborne College who held on for a draw despite the half centuries that Jade Smith, James Hofmeyr and George van Heerden struck.
SAC have inched closer to the pinnacle but could easily have regained the top spot if they had not drawn their declaration match with St Andrews School which saw Saints batter Gerrit Badenhorst striking a great century.
Pretoria Boys High put in one of their finest performances of the season when they got the better of Grey College thanks to a confident run chase led by Claudio Jardim (85 runs) and an unbeaten half century by Robert Jordan.
With some of the top teams not in action due to the mid-term break we can expect a revitalised finish to the first half of the 2020 season in the next few weeks.
