Facing a strong Grey College side was never going to be easy for Grey PE and forced to bat first on a damp pitch the going was tough in the beginning. Losing three quick wickets Grey PE for the first time looked vulnerable but a gutsy 43 runs by George van Heerden steadied the ship and allowed Cade Cambier the opportunity to hammer a quick fire 78 runs which included 5 sixes.
Grey College simply could not keep on top of the Grey PE bowlers and were sent reeling by the spin of Nick Keevy (3/18) and George van Heerden (3/5) and were soon all out 130 runs short of the target.
Many matches were rained off last week which did help some teams who got matches in to make up some ground whereas other will be hoping for clear skies this week and a chance to claim much need victories.
