Sports News: Kearsney College wrap up of the Hockey Fives Tournament.
HOCKEY FIVES
The Kearsney Hockey Fives delivered a weekend of thrilling, high-intensity action, with 26 teams showcasing skill, speed and strategy in this fast-paced format.
Durban High School (DHS) claimed victory in the boys’ high school division, while St Mary’s DSG topped the girls’ section. Primary schools participated in a more relaxed festival-style event, contributing to the spirit of the occasion.
Played on a half-sized pitch with five players per side and boundary walls, the modified format produced mostly tight, entertaining matches that kept spectators engaged throughout.
The compact nature of Hockey Fives demands quick thinking, precise control and relentless energy – qualities that were on full display in a highly successful weekend.
Kearsney College extends its sincere thanks to headline sponsor Belgotex Sport for their invaluable support, as well as to The Courier Guy, Halfway Ford Waterfall and MG Waterfall for their generous contributions.
